On one day each year, millions of chefs (professional and aspiring) hover, hoist and hope… the goal: a heart-stoppingly magnificent bronzed bird, ready for its close-up.
This year, Electrolux, makers of America’s most turkey-savvy ovens (imagine that 20-pound poultry sailing to succulence on a Smooth-Glide Oven Rack™ that extends effortlessly with the touch of a finger via a patented ball bearing system) is seeking the most runway-worthy, paparazzi-ready turkey.
All you have to do is visit www.BonAppetitNow.com and submit a color photo of your best-dressed bird with a list of the materials and ingredients that you used (90% edible food items; 10% non-edible items) by January 2, 2008.
A panel of stylish tastemakers will judge the entries on use of food items, presentation and originality. This is one time that looks absolutely count!
The top five finalists will each receive an Electrolux ICON™ Wall Oven (valued at $2,199), and one grand prize winner will be awarded an Electrolux ICON™ suite of premium, all-stainless steel kitchen appliances (approximate retail value $25,000).
